ADMISSION PROCEDURES
Interested parents are invited to contact the school and arrange an appointment to tour the premises and to meet with the Principal and discuss the academic curriculum and other features of the program offered at the Junior Academy.
For those parents who wish to proceed with registration for Kindergarten to Grade One, a date for a classroom visit will be scheduled. Visiting students are placed in their current grade level and are expected to take part in class activities. If a student is reluctant to enter the classroom , an individual screening can replace the classroom visit.
Students applying for Grade 2 to 8 are given an entrance examination on an individual basis in order to evaluate their levels of academic achievement in the core subject areas of Language Arts and Mathematics. The tests are administered during a full day visit to the school.
Each student applying also has an interview with the Principal.
Following the classroom visit and evaluation, copies of previous report cards will be requested and with the parent's permission, the Confidential Report Form will be forwarded to the applicant's current school for completion.
If appropriate, an 'Offer of Placement' will be forwarded to the applicant in writing following the classroom visit and receipt of the information requested.
